約５０分の会見は、直前に所属事務所が報道陣に「事件ではないので暴力団関係者の個人名や団体名につながる質問はしないでほしい」と要請して始まっ た。冒頭、紳助さんと所属事務所の社長が配布した説明文書に沿って説明。質疑応答に移ると約３００人の報道陣が一斉に手を上げた。

　事務所 側から指名されたのは芸能リポーターらが中心で、新聞社の記者が手を挙げ続けてもほとんど指名されることはなかった。リポーターからは「芸能界に未練はな いのですか」「芸能生活を振り返って思い出すシーンは」など、紳助さんに「気持ち」を尋ねる質問が大半を占めた。
